Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy is a comprehensive program of soft tissue manipulation techniques that balance the central nervous system with the musculo-skeletal system. The techniques include postural analysis, trigger point analysis and evaluation of biomechanical dysfunctions and ischemia. The first step is an evaluation of the entire body. Practitioners believe that treating any one part without looking at the system as a whole is ineffective. Neuromuscular Therapy has been shown to be effective for such conditions as
• Sciatica
• Migraine Headaches
• Low Back Pain
• Carpel Tunnel Syndrome
• Frozen Shoulder Syndrome
• Neck Pain
• TMJ Dysfunction
• Disc Herniations
• Whiplash Injuries
• Tennis Elbow
• Fibromyalgia
• Plantar Fasciitis
• Knee Pain
Neuromuscular Therapy was developed by Paul St. John after he suffered three severe injuries and had to deal with intense chronic pain. After exploring various alternatives with physicians and physical therapists, Paul began to research pain and pain mechanisms. Out of that research came an understanding which led to the creation of Neuromuscular Therapy.
